Bhubaneswar, June 2: SAI International School has become the first in the state to bag the prestigious International School Award from Department of Education, UK.
The school won under the category of exemplary dossier and outstanding work.
The award is managed in India by the British Council for which at least 90 schools from the country had participated.
This is an accreditation scheme run by the British Council for the department of children, schools and families in UK that recognises good practice in adding an international dimension to the school curriculum across the globe, said school chairman Bijoy Kumar Sahoo.
The award is a confirmation of the school curriculums international content by an independent assessment body, said Sahoo.
The school would be felicitated at a formal ceremony in New Delhi and its content and method would be presented to other schools, he said.
With the award, the school can enjoy the accreditation for three years, allowing international exchange of students and faculties among the accredited schools.
Two members of the teaching staff of the school have already visited Chosen Hill School in Gloucester, UK, said principal Arun Prakash.
