A student gets a make-up at the IIFT workshop in Ranchi on Tuesday (Manik Bose)

Ranchi, May 25:One should wear light make-up in summer to avoid sweating and protect the skin from ultraviolet rays. Besides, one should also avoid using creams and lotions as excessive sweat runs down the make up.

These and more such tips were shared at a daylong summer make-up workshop organised by International Institute of Fashion Technology (IIFT) for students of fashion designing and interior designing here today.

Sarita Jha, gold director of Oriflame, Jharkhand who was present on the occasion, gave valuable tips to the students on summer, evening, monsoon and bridal make-up.

In the first session, Jha apprised the budding designers to follow the routine of cleaning, toning and moisturising, considered to be an important part of make-up.

Jha stressed on paying special attention to the eyes. “Water proof make-up is best for this season,” she explained.

Anamika Singh, a faculty member of IIFT said girls should tie their hair in a pony tail during monsoons to prevent breakage.

Madhuri Singh, a student who applied day make-up during the course of the workshop, said “The make-up applied was light and thus perfectly suited to the summer season,” she said.

A total of 45 students picked up the nitty gritties of make-up.

Others present on the occasion were Oriflame consultant Jyoti Chawla along with IIFT faculty and director of IIFT Abhishek Biswas.
