Kokrajhar, May 24:

Road mishap
Dhubri:
An unidentified man aged around 30 years died on the spot when an oil tanker ran him over on NH31 at Daukijhara under Bongaigaon police station on Sunday night.
Drowned
Dhubri:
Four-year-old Faridul Sikdar of Bhelakowa village in Dhubri district drowned in the village pond on Sunday. The boy was missing since 10am.
Fraud held
Dhubri:
Abhiram Rabha, 45, of Japeya-Moinapara village in Bongaigaon district was arrested with fake Indian currency amounting to Rs 29,400 on Sunday. A police source in Abhayapuri police station said on a tip-off, the police raided the house of Rabha and recovered the fake currency.
Car stolen
Dhubri:
The official vehicle of the executive engineer of Kokrajhar district irrigation department, Ajit Kumar Sarkar, was stolen on Saturday night. Sarkar lodged a missing diary at Gouripur police station on Sunday.
Body found
Guwahati:
The body of a newborn boy was found at Sundarpur on Monday. Local residents spotted the body floating on the Bharalu and informed police. The police have sent the body to the GMCH for autopsy.
