Kokrajhar, May 8: The All Bodo Students Union (Absu) demanded holding of elections to the six autonomous councils, Rabha Hasong, Tiwa, Deuri, Mising, Sonowal Kachari and Tengal Kachari, after proper demarcation of boundary and constituencies, among others.

Talking to the media at a press meet held at Bodofa House in Kokrajhar, Absu president Promode Boro said the state government has not taken any steps for proper implementation and functioning of the councils created for the safeguard of the indigenous community. Absu adviser Rwngwra Narzary said the government was handling the problem half-heartedly.
