Silchar murder

Silchar, May 6: The body of 28-year-old Bejoy Singh was recovered from Ukilpatty here last evening. His throat had been slit. Singh, a resident of Udaipur town in Tripura, worked in a garment shop on Central Road as a shop assistant for the past one-and-a-half years. Shopowner Kartik Paul has been detained.

Body found

Dhubri: The body of four-year-old Rizuman Rahman of Sualtary village under Bilasipara police station of Dhubri district was recovered from a cattle shed on Wednesday night.

Abducted

Guwahati: A businessman, Birendra Pashad Gupta, was allegedly kidnapped by suspected militants from Disangmukh in Sivasagar on Thursday afternoon.

Gibbon better

Guwahati: The operation on the two-year-old male hoolock gibbon was conducted successfully at the state zoo on Thursday.

Cattle seized

Dhubri: Three Bangladeshi smugglers were arrested and 231 cattle seized from Kalaikhowa in Dhubri district on Thursday.
