Power failure
Dhubri, May 4:
The whole of Dhubri district plunged into darkness last night as power supply was disrupted because of a major fault in the 132KV Gossaigain-Gauripur transmission line. The Assam State Electricity Board today announced that work was on to restore power supply.
Accusation

Theft
Guwahati:
Thieves decamped with jewellery worth about Rs 65 lakh from Roy Gahanalaya at Panbazar on Monday night. Police have registered a case at Panbazar police station but no arrest has been made. In another incident, a snatcher, Sanjay Sahini, 23, was caught while trying to snatch a cellphone from Jitu Kalita at Bhangagarh on Tuesday.
Wine seized
Dhubri:
Police seized 432 bottles of wine from a Cooch Behar-bound bus going from Gouripur at Chagolia inter-state checkgate under Dhubri district on Monday night.
