Best ramp experience: Has to be my first ever outstation assignment. We did a show in Jorhat and the applause and response that I got from the audience was huge!

How to handle wardrobe malfunction: Well, I have had my share of bad times on the ramp — I have fallen down. Hopefully that was my first and last fall! I try to keep a straight face and to bring myself back as fast as I can.

Designer you would like to walk for: Manish Malhotra. I love how he plays with colours. Also Manish Arora.

Role models: Nayanika Chatterjee and Sushmita Sen. I was awestruck when I first met Nayanika. It was the first time I was meeting a supermodel! With Sushmita, I always feel a connection. My dad was in the air force and I read that she too has an army background. So I always thought that I was born to be a beauty queen!

The best thing about being a model: It has done wonders for my self-esteem.

Modelling myths: That models are dumb! It is also a myth that in order to be a model, one has to be fair and pretty.

Favourite supermodel: Of course Nayanika Chatterjee!

First fitting: For Ritu Kumar at her Beleghata factory.

Most quirky fashion moment: At a Kallol Datta showing where he had wrapped the models’ hair in stockings. The eyebrows were raised very high. It was so different!

Most memorable compliment: During a grooming session for Sananda Tilottama we were asked to come up with a few expressions. For some reason, none of the other girls were able to pull it off. I gave it my best shot. Nayanika ma’am said, “You are very sincere”. That meant a lot to me.

Your dream first row: Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Ritu Kumar, Manish Malhotra, Rani Mukerji and Madhuri Dixit.

If you could be showstopper, it would be for: Ritu Kumar.

Best modelling moment: I would say it was winning Unish Kuri Fresh Face in 2008. Right after that I did a couple of shoots, one for Sananda and another for Unish Kuri. They also encouraged me to give Unish Kuri Glam Hunt a shot. It was then that I considered pursuing modelling.

The actor you’d like to walk the ramp with: Jude Law, Brad Pitt or Hrithik Roshan.
