11 shops gutted

Imphal, April 9: Eleven shops were completely gutted when a fire broke out at Lilong Bazar in Thoubal district this morning. Property worth lakhs of rupees was destroyed.

Shot dead

Imphal: Assam Rifles troops shot dead a suspected militant in an encounter at Waithou in Thoubal district in the wee hours on Friday.

Imphal: Police recovered an unidentified body near a canal at Kwakeithel in Imphal West on Friday.

Imphal: A mob at Ghari in Imphal West on Friday razed the houses of three youths who beat up another youth from the locality on Thursday.

Dhubri: Rasomala Begum, 24, of Maijali village in Dhubri district, committed suicide on Thursday.

Postponed

Dhubri: A 150-hour economic blockade from Friday in Rabha Hasong area of Goalpara and Kamrup districts, announced by ARSU and SSDC, has been postponed to April 16.
