Jamshedpur, March 26: East Singhbhum district superintendent of education (DSE) Sushil Kumar is busy pursuing his literary dreams these days. The DSE, a recognised poet in Hindi literary circles, is doing all to promote Hindi literature.
Kumar has come up with two websites and two blogs dedicated to Hindi literature on a global platform. He has designed them too. These are www.sushilkumar.net, http://words.sushilkumar.net, smritideergha.blogspot.com and diary.sushilkumar.net.
“Before December 2008, I used to write for well-known Hindi literary magazines but I felt that Hindi, as a language, was not getting its due recognition. It is then that I decided to come up with my first website,” said 46-year-old Kumar, who was the head master of District High School, Chaibasa, before becoming a DSE.
Kumar has got his articles published in Pratishirshak, Parikatha, Yugtewar, Nai Dhara and Akshara to name a few.
Kumar completed his education in Patna before appearing for the Jharkhand Public Service Commission. He holds a BEd degree. Interested in software technology, he took help from his friends who are already working in the IT sector for the site.
He says each of his websites and blogs serves a different purpose. The first comprises poems he has written while the second comprises essays on life and philosophy. Likewise, smritideergha.blogspot.com invites Hindi writers to contribute. Currently 34 writers contribute to the blog.
Critical appreciation of Hindi literature also forms an integral part of the websites that host photographs of well-known Hindi academics and poets of various genres.
“Promotion of literature does not only mean promoting my work. I am also willing to give a platform to other new emerging writers, who find difficulty in publishing their work. Being in a responsible government position does not allow me much time for creative work but I still try hard,” Kumar said.
