The body of a 56-year-old widow, Namita Biswas, was found in a bathroom of her Baguiati home on Tuesday morning. Biswas’s son and married daughter used to live with her. The woman, who was suffering from high blood pressure, fell in the bathroom and died, said police. Relatives alleged that her daughter had killed her for property. The body was sent for post-mortem.
Cancer care: The state’s first palliative care centre for terminal cancer patients was inaugurated at KPC Medical College and Hospital on Tuesday by health minister Surjya Kanta Mishra. The centre has 26 beds. The care-giving group would consist of oncologists, psychologists, social activists and performing artists.
Road mishap: An unidentified teenager died after being knocked down by a private bus near Belilious Park in Howrah on Tuesday morning.
