Bongaigaon pile up 295 in semi-final

Guwahati, Feb. 22: A breezy ton by Surajit Roy helped Bongaigaon pile up a challenging first innings total of 295 in 83.4 overs against Karimganj in the first semi-final of the Nuruddin Ahmed Trophy senior inter-district cricket tournament plate group tournament at Mangaldoi today.

Karimganj did not bat today.

In an elite group league encounter at Nagaon, the hosts rode centuries by Amit Sinha and Yadin Islam to declare their first innings at 350 for seven in 60.4 overs today.

In reply, opponents Bilasipara were tottering at 93 for six in 30 overs at close of play.

While Sinha scored 128, Islam contributed 109 for Nagaon. Bhaskarjyoti Konwar chipped in with 55.
