Nearly 2 lakh to appear for HS
Guwahati: Altogether 198,593 candidates will appear for the Higher Secondary examination, 2010, which will commence from Tuesday. The examination will be held at 654 examination centres and venues across Assam. While 168,928 candidates will appear under the arts stream, 14,855 will appear under the science stream, 13,764 candidates under the commerce stream and 1,046 candidates under the vocational stream.
NH54 opens
Silchar: Movement of traffic along NH54 from here to Aizawl and Lunglei in Mizoram, stalled since Friday because of the tension in north Mizoram over the rape and murder of a Mizo woman, resumed on Sunday.

Jawans injured
Dhubri: Three BSF jawans manning the Indo-Bangla border at Ghoramara border village in Dhubri district were injured when a group of cattle smugglers attacked them on Saturday night.
Robber arrested
Dhubri: Chand Mian was arrested by Dhubri police in connection with a robbery case from Paglahat on Sunday. The police recovered a motorcycle used in the robbery.
Road mishap
Dhubri: Three persons died and one was injured when a van collided with a motorcycle at Puranibhita on NH37 in Goalpara district on Saturday night.
