Abhinav equals Beijing mark
New Delhi: Ace Indian marksman Abhinav Bindra equalled his Beijing Olympics qualification score at the International Shooting Competition in Munich Sunday. He shot an impressive series of 99, 99, 100, 99, 100 and 99 to equal his Beijing Games qualification score of 596 out of 600.

New Delhi: The appointment of a Ukrainian coach by the shooters themselves has not gone down well with sports minister MS Gill who said they should have showed more patience though the marksmen argued that they could not wait longer for things to happen. Gill, however, said he has taken note of their demand and had asked his ministry officials to look into the matter.
Anand victory
Wijk Aan Zee: Viswanathan Anand outclassed Russian Vladimir Kramnik in the 12th round to rise to the third spot in the elite group A of the Corus Chess Tournament here. After his second victory in three rounds, Anand moved to the third spot.

London: Ottis Gibson is to leave his post as England’s bowling coach to become the head coach of the West Indies. Details are being ironed out, but he will almost certainly not be going with England on their six-week tour of Dubai and Bangladesh.
PCB appeal
Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will file a fresh appeal with Dubai authorities requesting them to revoke the travelling restrictions imposed on Mohammed Asif.
