Paoli Dam shooting for Moner Manush
|
A car carrying actress Paoli Dam was involved in an accident in Bangladesh on Monday afternoon. She was administered first aid in a hospital and released.
Paoli is in Bangladesh to shoot for director Goutam Ghose’s Moner Manush on the life of Lalan Fakir, played by Prosenjit. Her mother, who was travelling with her, sustained minor injuries.
The film unit had reached Dhaka on Monday morning after shooting for several days in the Chilapata forests of north Bengal.
Paoli and her mother were on their way to Sunamganj in Sylhet, where the team was supposed to shoot from Tuesday, when the mishap occurred around 3pm.
The Moner Manush team is scheduled to shoot vital portions of the film at various locations in Bangladesh — from the banks of the Padma to Tangail and Gazipur — over the next 10 days.
A source said the mishap would not disrupt plans. “No one is injured. We are fine here and will shoot from Tuesday morning. It was a minor accident,” was the word from the unit in Bangladesh.
The film is based on a novel by Sunil Gangopadhyay. The part where Lalan Fakir meets Jyotirindranath Tagore and the film goes into flashback will be shot in Bangladesh.
Moner Manush is slated for a May release.
