Flier held for ticket fraud

A man was arrested at the city airport on Thursday for allegedly trying to travel on another passenger’s ticket. Piyush Saraf, a Phoolbagan resident, arrived at the airport to catch a Jet Airways flight to Mumbai with a ticket belonging to a man named D. Nandi. CISF personnel handed Saraf over to police.

Special trains: Eastern Railway will run a pair of special trains between Sealdah and Dankuni on Friday for the Kalpataru Utsav at the Dakshineswar Temple. The train will leave Sealdah at 1.20pm and reach Dankuni at 2.03pm. It will start from Dankuni at 2.12pm and reach Sealdah at 2.54pm. The trains will stop at all stations en route.

Boy missing: Sourav Rajput Rathore, a 21-year-old Patna resident studying BBA in the city, went missing while washing his hands in the Hooghly near Diamond Harbour on Thursday afternoon. Rathore had gone to Diamond Harbour with six friends.

Body found: A 20-year-old unidentified woman was found murdered beside the railway tracks near Sonarpur station on Thursday. GRP officers said the word Chaitali was written on the woman’s wrist. She was wearing salwar kameez and her legs were fastened with a dupatta.

Two injured: Shankar Das, 32, and Ejaj Ahmed, 30, were injured after the car they were travelling in was hit by a lorry from behind on Park Circus connector late on Wednesday.
