The Natural Way

Sohini Sarkar
actor

Twice a week I apply my homemade skincare pack, which is a fresh haldi mask that I keep on for 15
minutes. This is followed by a mask made of ground rice and masoor dal, which I keep on for another 15 minutes before scrubbing and washing it off in a circular motion. I also drink a mixed juice made from carrots, tomatoes and amla for glowing skin every day.

I am a 26-year-old woman. I have waist-length hair. Since I have to stay outdoors a lot due to my work, my hair gets all tangled by the end of the day. When I try to comb it, it invariably causes breakage — not from the roots though. Could you please suggest a natural remedy?

S. Sharma, Calcutta

Make sure you oil your hair regularly. Use olive oil mixed with castor oil and follow this up with turban therapy. Also apply a pack to soften and condition your type of hair. Try this — put together 4 tbs honey, one mashed banana, 1 tsp shikakai and 1 tsp of reetha powder . Mix all of this well into a thick paste. Apply this paste from the roots of your hair all the way down to the ends. Leave it in for about 40 minutes. Wash off and shampoo your hair normally and use a herbal conditioner.
