Brawn dawn
All those who have been envying our actors should do a quick rethink. Its not all fun and games for these hunky men. In fact, it seems all that they do is gym — and then gym some more. After the Khans, its the turn of producer-actor Rahul Aggarwal, who wants to get into shape for his debut film Na Ghar Ke Na Ghat Ke. And helping him in this noble endeavour is his friend, Suniel Shetty, known for his own bulging biceps. Shetty, who anchored Rahuls reality show Biggest Looser Jeetega, has asked his personal trainer to help him pump some iron, and has even chalked out a diet for him. Now for the advent of the next incredible hunk.
On the ball
We blame those poor cricketers for hobnobbing with actresses, but our other sportsmen arent far behind either. The latest to be bitten by the Bollywood bug is billiard champ Pankaj Advani. The master cueist had two close encounters with stars recently, and is still moony-eyed. First, he met singer-actress Vasundhara Das at a Hyderabad restaurant and had a nice and friendly chat with her. And now we are told he is going gaga over Katrina Kaif. If I ever wish to get into Bollywood, it would be great to work with her, he has been saying. But the man, as always, has to wait for the right cue.
More on Morea
He may not be in a theatre near you, but he may soon pop up in a pub somewhere close by. We are talking about actor Dino Morea, who has been missing from the silver screen in recent times. But we are told the man is really busy with his other ventures. He owns a bar in Mumbai and plans to open three more branches. Besides, he runs a production house which keeps him on his toes. Whats more, hes also thinking of making a foray into marketing male couture. Thats a good way of keeping yourself in public memory even if you have no films. You may not be on everybodys lips, but youll make it as some peoples label.
Pride parade
So where is Koena Mitra? This is what her Facebook status message says: In Chennai…..fashion week.
The FB addict, whose profile pictures highlight her activities, has recently been focusing on the ramp. The audience was apparently gobsmacked when the Bong bombshell modelled for designer Pria Kataria Puri at the fashion show. We are told Koena (but, of course, by people close to Koena!) that she looked dazzling in a golden gown thats said to have been inspired by the bohemian eighties. Now we are waiting for an update: Show over, but the show goes on.
Singh sings
Gracy Singh arrived with a bang, but disappeared without a whimper. Now we are told that she was always around, but in the South, where she acted in a spate of Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam films. But Gracy, who acted in Lagaan and Munnabhai, says that her tryst with Hindi film continues, as long as she gets roles in realistic films. One such film — called Aseema — has just been release. Based on an acclaimed Oriya novel, and directed by Shishir P. Mishra, the film is about a resilient woman. The critics, however, have been a little harsh about the film, but Gracy is not worried. The audience gave a thumbs up to her earlier films, and the actress is hoping for an encore.
