New station
Dibrugarh, Dec. 10:
The new railway station at Banipur in Dibrugarh will start functioning from tomorrow. The Guwahati-Yashwantpur (Bangalore) Weekly Express has been extended to run from the new station. It will leave Dibrugarh at 6.30pm.

Imphal:
Troops of the Assam Rifles shot dead a militant in an encounter at Patbung of Senapati district on Thursday.
Stabbed
Dhubri:
A person, identified as Kasem Ali, 30, was stabbed to death by a gang at Kajaikata village under Bilasipara police station of Dhubri district on Wednesday night.

Golaghat:
Dergaon police on Thursday arrested Bolo Das and recovered gold ornaments worth Rs 30,000. Das brought the gold ornaments from Jamuguri in Golaghat after cheating a family.
