Abhishek takes 5 vs Andhra

D.P. Prashanth scored 54 as Andhra made 280 for nine on the third day of the Cooch Behar Trophy Super League match at the Jadavpur University, Salt Lake campus ground, on Sunday. For Bengal, pacer Abhishek Das took five for 48.

Joshimar boost

Joshimar will make a comeback in Chirag United’s CFL match against Kalighat MS Monday.

He had missed the last match, against George Telegraph, with a double booking. However, Chirag may miss Denson Devadas, Safar Sardar and Lalkamal Bhowmick.

Table tennis

Suparna Bhattacharyya and Ritika Kundu will vie for the women’s singles title in the CCD Table Tennis Championships Monday. In the semi-finals on Sunday, Suparna beat Pallabi Guha 11-3, 12-14, 11-7, 11-8, 11-7 while Ritika edged past Pinky Agarwal 11-9, 11-8, 8-11, 10-12, 11-8, 11-4.

Beighton Cup

Sunil Kujur struck twice as CESC beat East Coast Railway 2-1 in their Beighton Cup match at the SAI Complex on Sunday. Rajendra Baxla gave East Coast the lead in the 20th minute only for Kujur to equalise within 8 minutes. He then converted a penalty corner in the 50th. In another match, ERSA bt BNR 6-5 on penalties after regulation time ended with the teams tied 1-1.

U-14 tennis

Clinton Mullick qualified for the boys’ singles U-14 main draw defeating Aditya Dey 6-1, 6-3 in the Shambazar Tennis Club–AITA Talent Series at Deshbandhu Park on Sunday.
