Draped in a Sabyasachi Mukherjee sari, Rani Mukerji was the showstopper of the evening. “It’s always lovely to be in my city Calcutta and when it is for an award, the trip becomes even more special. I worked very hard on Dil Bole Hadippa! and it feels great to see that my effort has been recognised and appreciated,” said Rani, after bagging the Best Actress award (critics choice, Bollywood) for the Yash Raj film.

Ghajini girl Asin won the Best Actress award (popular choice, Bollywood) for playing Kalpana in the Aamir Khan film. “To be showered with so much love and appreciation for one’s debut film is overwhelming! I hope I can live up to your expectations,” gushed Asin, looking fetching in black and gold.
