One of the biggest and most happening inter-school fests in this part of the country, the annual TTIS Challenge is back once again, with three days of exciting events and competitions that are all set to bowl over young minds. The finals of this year’s Dabur Red The Great TTIS Challenge 2009 kicked off yesterday amidst much enthusiasm from the huge turnout of students from 130 participating schools, who had gathered to cheer the 4,500 plus participants, competing amongst themselves in 17 events. Today’s competition will end with a DJ night by RJs from Red FM, while tomorrow’s closing ceremony will witness a performance by Krosswindz. Each competitive event will be graced by celebrities who are among the best in their chosen fields; from actor-orator Barun Chanda to musician-foodie Nondon Bagchi, theatre personality Rama Prasad Banik to singer Arati Mukhopadhyay. Competitions will be held in categories including Three-Minutes-to-Fame, Creative Writing, Fusion Dance and Fashion Show. Contestants will be called upon to make music without instruments in Unconventional Orchestra, or imitate their favourite band in Mock a Band, or even literally bring down a rival school in a battle of strategy and strength, Tug of War. The most anticipated prize is the Champion of Champions, an award that will go to a school with the most number of winning participants.
