Dav holds one-on-one sessions

Calcutta: Newly-appointed coach Dav Whatmore held one-on-one sessions on Monday, with most of the 16 players who were present on the first of the two-day conditioning camp of the Kolkata Knight Riders. Apart from five outstation players, there were 10 Bengal players who attended the camp at the Eden.

The five outstation players included Tamil Nadu all-rounder Ganapathy Vignesh, Kerala pacers Nizar Niyas and Prasanth Parameswaran, Services batsman Yashpal Singh, and Gujarat off-spinner Mohnish Parmar.

While Vignesh and Parmar are attending the camp as they are not part of their state’s respective Ranji Trophy squads, Yashpal is present is because Services have been banned from this season’s Ranji Trophy. The Kerala duo are attending the camp as they do not have any match from December 1-4.

Apart from Sourav Ganguly, the other Bengal players present were Laxmi Ratan Shukla, Ashok Dinda, Wriddhiman Saha, Debabrata Das, Sourashis Lahiri, Sourav Sarkar, Arindam Ghosh and Amit Das, along with former ICL players Rohan Gavaskar and Syed Eklakh Ahmed.

Sourav was not supposed to attend Monday’s session due to prior commitments, but joined the proceedings later. The KKR captain batted for a considerable amount of time at the nets. He was also seen rolling his arm over later.
