Special trains
The Eastern Railway will run two pairs of special trains between Sealdah and New Jalpaiguri and Howrah and New Jalpaiguri on November 27. The trains will leave Howrah at 10pm and Sealdah at 11.55pm. The Down trains will leave NJP at 9pm and 12.30pm on November 29.
Power supply
Power supply may be affected in the SN Roy Road, Chanditala, Senhati Colony, Buroshibtala, Ghoshpur Railway Colony, James Long Sarani, Jyotish Roy Road, Brojendra Mukherjee Road, JK Paul Road, Eastern Railway Housing Colony, Sahapore Colony and Rajani Mukherjee Road areas between 9.30am and 12.30pm on Friday because of CESC repairs.
Robbed
Two persons were drugged and robbed on Calcutta-bound trains on Thursday. Jitendra Raut, 24, who boarded the Mumbai Mail at Bilaspur in Orissa was found unconscious when the train reached Howrah at 7am. His belongings, including a cellphone and Rs 2,000, were missing. Akhilesh Dwivedi, 33, who was returning to Calcutta from Bihar by the Bagh Express, was also found unconscious at Howrah station at 2.30pm. His luggage and money were missing.
LPG protest
Around 100 auto operators blocked the Park Circus seven-point crossing on Thursday morning protesting the lack of LPG stations in the area. The blockade was lifted after 30 minutes when police intervened.
