Nitish sells the Bihar dream to Jharkhand

Dhanbad/Jamshedpur, Nov. 21: After earning praise for development in his state, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar today dished out the Bihar dream for Jharkhand residents.

“Enough experiments have been carried out in the state ever since its creation and the situation has turned from bad to worse,” Kumar told a gathering of 10,000 people in Dhanbad today.

The occasion was the joint public meeting of BJP president Rajnath Singh and Nitish to support JD(U) president Jaleshwar Mahto who is contesting from Baghmara Assembly constituency of Dhanbad. as an NDA candidate.

Launching an attack against former chief minister Madhu Koda, Nitish said: “Koda ne sara madhu chus liya aur koda janta ke liye chhor diya (Koda has sucked all the honey and left the whip for the people).”

Comparing Bihar and Jharkhand, Kumar said when Jharkhand was created nine years ago there was hope on every face while the people of Bihar were in despair about their future as they had lost all their mineral wealth.

“The hope soon turned to nightmare in Jharkhand due to the misrule of the past nine years,” Nitish said, adding that Bihar had carved a niche among the most developing states of the country.

Seeking a clear mandate for the formation of a stable government, Nitish said only a stable government could pave the way for development of the state.

BJP national president Rajnath Singh charged the UPA partners of forging an opportunist alliance.

“All the alliance partners including Congress and RJD have fielded separate candidates from the same constituency,” said Singh, adding that the NDA partners were at least honest to the alliance.

Later in Jamshedpur, the BJP national president hit out at Sonia Gandhi, terming the Congress chief's notion of stability “drama”.

Addressing an election rally, along with Nitish at Aam Bagan in Sakchi, Singh also held Congress, RJD and JMM responsible for the much-publicised money laundering scam involving Madhu Koda.

He asked who was responsible for destabilising the Arjun Munda government. Singh added that it was amusing that Sonia was talking stability when it was the UPA government that used the then governor to dethrone the duly elected government of Munda.
