Ranchi, Nov. 16: Five armed men shot two brothers near Taurian World School in Tupudana on the city outskirts this morning.

They have been identified as Ramu Singh (25) and Shamu Singh (27), both residents of Hazam Bustee.

Police sources said the duo were heading to a school construction site when the men intercepted their motorbike and opened fire on them.

City SP Sambhu Thakur confirmed the news. But he was clueless about the reason behind the murders.

“We have identified one of the miscreants. We will be able to give you further details only after arresting him,” he said. Prima facie the matter appeared to be a revenge killing. “The two had criminal backgrounds and were also jailed last year for murdering the wife of a government employee,” said an officer, requesting anonymity.
