New Delhi, Nov. 13: India and Australia have issued a joint statement declaring they will strengthen interaction in counter-terrorism, defence, disarmament and non-proliferation as well as maritime security among other things.
The framework of the co-operation, decided at a meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Australian counterpart Kevin Rudd who was in India, include information exchange and policy coordination on regional affairs in the Asia region.
Issues like disaster management, maritime and aviation security and law enforcement will also be covered under the framework.
