Exports decline

New Delhi, Nov. 11: India’s exports fell 11.4 per cent in October on low demand for leather, handicrafts and other products from the recession-hit West. Overseas shipments in the month were $12.5 billion against $14.1 billion in the same period last year. Indirect tax collections also shrunk by over 21 per cent to Rs 1.26 lakh crore in the first seven months, against Rs 1.61 lakh crore a year ago.

Tata bonds

New Delhi, Nov. 11: Tata Steel is looking at restructuring its convertible bonds portfolio. Details will be confirmed after the restructuring process is completed, a Tata Steel spokesperson said. However, he declined to give details as to why the company was restructuring the stated portfolio.

US duty

Washington, Nov. 11: The US International Trade Commission has decided to continue with restrictions on the import of pre-stressed concrete steel wire strands from India, Brazil, Korea, Mexico, Thailand and Japan by imposing additional duties on the commodity.
