Calcutta: The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Jagmohan Dalmiya is happy that Eden Gardens will host the India-England tie in the 2011 World Cup.

“We’ve got a good deal… It will be an important match,” Dalmiya said on Monday.

Eden Gardens will be hosting three other matches — South Africa vs Ireland; Ireland vs The Netherlands and Zimbabwe vs Kenya.

That the other matches feature mainly the minnows of cricket doesn’t worry Dalmiya. “That is how it works. It cannot always be the best... We had bid for one India match beside three others. Accordingly, we have got one of the best involving India…”
