Sayan, Partha new faces in the squad

Calcutta: Sourav Ganguly will be playing Bengal’s Ranji Trophy match against Baroda which gets under way at the Eden from Tuesday. Other inclusions are all-rounder Sayan Sekhar Mondal and Partha Sarathi Bhattacharya.

Bengal will be missing the services of Manoj Tiwary, Wriddhiman Saha and Ashok Dinda as they will be busy doing duties for the Board President’s XI against Sri Lanka.

Sayan, who had an eight-wicket haul against Hyderabad in the CK Nayudu Trophy match which concluded on Saturday, comes in as a back-up bowler. Pacer Sourav Sarkar and batsman Dibyendu Chakraborty, along with Sourav, are likely to be in playing eleven.

Meanwhile, Baroda reached the city on Saturday evening sans Yusuf Pathan, who will be coming on Sunday. Irfan, however, has come.
