Calcutta: Chirag United and their coach Subrata Bhattacharya are dreaming big and why not? Twelve points after six matches have put them in the second place of the I-League table and they are already thinking of winning the title.
Our target is to get 25 points after 13 matches. That will help us to get into a zone from where we can easily dream of winning the I-League, Bhattacharya said on the eve of their seventh round match against Salgaocar.
We cannot lose points at this stage. We need to win in Friday and boys know that… They will go all out, the veteran coach said after Chirags one-and-half hour practice session at the Central Park in Salt Lake on Thursday morning.
In the practice session Bhattacharya was stressing on set-piece combinations with special focus on Edmilson and Edurado, his two Brazilian recruits.
Bhattcharya is likely to field an unchanged side against Salgaocar at the Barasat Stadium.
There are no injury problems. Boys are in good shape and are raring to go, Bhattacharya said.
Meanwhile, Salgaocars US coach Tim Hankinson said Chirag is a strong opponent. Our experiment with the team combinations are over and Friday we will implement what we have learnt from them … There are no options to sit back and relax.
