Rajdhani extended

Bhubaneswar: Following an announcement in the previous railway budget, the frequency of Bhubaneswar-Rajdhani Express has been increased.

The railway ministry has decided to run the Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express six days a week instead of five. Previously, the express left Bhubaneswar every Monday and Friday. Now, it will also leave Bhubaneswar on Tuesdays with effect from November 3, 2009. Similarly, the 2444 New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Express leaving New Delhi every Saturday and Wednesday, will also leave on Thursdays, with effect from November 5, 2009.

JEE trouble

Cuttack: The Orissa government’s bid to stop Orissa Private Engineering Colleges Association from holding a separate Common Entrance Test on Sunday received a setback on Friday with the high court adjourning a hearing on the appeal for a week. The Joint Entrance Examination Committee’s writ appeal, seeking a stay on the test came up for hearing on Friday.

Arms arrest

Purnea: Harendra Poddar, Chander Poddar, Mohammed Salim and Mohammed Guljar, allegedly involved in supplying weapons to criminals, were arrested from Purnea on Friday after police raided a place under Sadar police station area.
