Final bouts played out at JRD

Jamshedpur, Oct. 10: H.J. Singh and P. Sandil of Tata Boxing Centre emerged champions in their respective weight categories on the second day of the 6th Jharkhand State Boxing Championship at JRD Tata Sports Complex today.

Singh defeated Bijay Kumar (Urban Services) in the light flyweight senior men’s final while Sandil outclassed Rahul Singh (also from Urban Services) in the light weight summit clash.

Seraikela-Kharsawan’s Taranjeet Singh claimed the senior man’s super heavy title by flooring Jitendra Kumar Saha of Urban Services.

The final bout between Kundan Kumar Chandra (East Singhbhum) and Sonu Khalko (TBC) was cancelled as both the participants failed to turn up.

In the sub-junior final, P.K. Rabidas defeated Santosh Sharma in the C-7 weight section whereas Rakesh Kumar Sahu (Ranchi) floored East Singhbhum’s Jitu Rabidas in the C-7 weight category.

Anisha Tirkey of the TBC annexed the title by defeating Jhansi Bodra of Ranchi in the featherweight final.
