VC holds meeting for academic progress

Hazaribagh, Sept. 13: Vice-chancellor (VC) of Vinoba Bhave University (VBU) Arvind Kumar held a meeting on Saturday evening with principals of 38 affiliated colleges and sought their co-operation for raising the standard of academics.

Kumar asked the principals of non-registered colleges to get their institutions registered with the University Grants Commission (UGC), promising all co-operation.

“Give top priority to regular classes and organise seminars and symposiums at your college to create an academic environment,” said Kumar.

He appealed to principals to ensure success of the proposed two-day national seminar at VBU on November 7. Kumar asked principals to take concrete measures to check the rising number of court cases and invited principals, teachers and staff to bring legal problems to the varsity’s notice before going to court.

On the shortage of teachers and staff, Kumar asked them to initiate the process for creation of posts and assured them of VBU assistance. He even asked principals to prepare a “college-at-a-glance” schedule with updated information of all teachers and non-teaching staff.

Pro-vice-chancellor J.L. Oraon, registrar E.N. Siddiqui, finance officer Navin Kumar Sinha and deputy registrar Vijay Kumar Singh were present on the occasion.
