Mohun Bagan player injured

Mohun Bagan defender Anand Vasan, met with an accident on Friday and was admitted to the internsive care unit of a city hospital after a car rammed into his bike at the Park Circus connector near Topsia.

“He has a fractured shoulder and also sustained a head injury,” medical superintendent of AMRI, Salt Lake, Dr Debasish Sarma said on Friday evening. “He is under observation but his condition is stable.”

Sanjib wins

Sanjib Regius Kerketta defeated top seed Prem Singh 6-4, 6-1 to win the boys’ singles under-18 crown at the Amust Calcutta Hard Court Tennis Championship being played at Calcutta South Club. Sanjib beat the top seed 6-4, 6-1.

Appointment

Joy Mukherjee has been appointed the tournament referee of the Sub-junior Nationals, Junior Nationals and the 34th National Games by the All India Tennis Association.
