Calcutta: Sourav Ganguly on Friday informally told state selectors Sambaran Banerjee and Devang Gandhi that he would be available to play in some of the matches during the forthcoming Ranji season.
Sourav said he would play some of the matches, preferably the home ties
He has also said that he would like to bat at No.5, a CAB official said.
Sourav sweated it out at the Pankaj Gupta Indoor Training Centre for the second consecutive day on Friday.
Bengal will take on Delhi, Baroda and Saurashtra in their three home matches in the Ranji Trophy this season.
Sourav said on Wednesday that he wont mind playing a few matches for Bengal. However, he had ruled out the possibility of a comeback to the national side.
Sourav earlier said that he might make himself available for a few of the Vijay Hazare Trophy matches this time too. Besides, he is also set to play the third edition of the Indian Premier League for the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Sourav is also the chairman of the CABs cricket development committee, which also has Pranab Roy, Arun Lal and Ashok Malhotra.
