Medicine seized

Guwahati, Sept. 11: The special task force (STF) of Assam police seized 400 cartons each containing 100 bottles of Phensedyl and Recodex cough syrup from a truck at Ninth Mile area in Guwahati last night.

Shot dead

Haflong: A cadre of the NSCN (Khaplang) was shot dead by security forces at Lungsem village near Haflong on Friday in a joint operation.

Snatched

Dhubri: Criminals snatched Rs 46,000 from a retired agriculture engineer, Ajoy Kumar Sarkar, when he was counting currency notes at an SBI counter in Dhubri town on Friday.

Two injured

Dhubri: Bajlul Hoque and Fazal Hoque were seriously injured when a truck knocked them down on Ramakrishna Mission Road on Friday.
