Steel price hike
New Delhi, Sept. 2: Leading steel makers SAIL and Tata Steel today hiked the prices of some of their products by up to Rs 1,500 a tonne on improvement in demand, while their peers are considering similar options. “We have raised prices of our flat products (used for car manufacturing) by Rs 1,500 a tonne in line with the rising international prices,” a SAIL spokesperson said.
Maytas offer
New Delhi, Sept. 2: IL&FS, the new promoter of Maytas Infra, today made an offer to buy an additional 20 per cent stake in the firm at Rs 112.80 a share. IL&FS said its open offer would begin on October 24 and close on November 12, 2009.
