Manaksia defeated Camellia GR 4-0 while East Bengal got the better of Chirag United 4-1 on the inaugural day of the Bengal Premier League, organised by the West Bengal Table Tennis Association, at Kshudiram Anushilan Kendra Tuesday.

On Wednesday, East Bengal take on Manaksia while Sports Authority of India (SAI) play Calcutta Riverside at SAI.

Coaches named

In the coaches committee meeting at the Cricket Association of Bengal, Gopal Bose and Ajay Verma were declared coaches for the Under-19 team. The other coaches are:

Tapanjyoti Banerjee and Saikat Goswami (under-22), Goutam Shome (jr) and Rajib Ghosh (under-16).

Meanwhile, Kalighat signed Manoj Tiwary, Sourav Sarkar, Abhijit Ganguly and Amitabha Chakraborty. Rohan Gavaskar had earlier signed for the club.

Fixtures

The IFA Shield fixtures were revised to ensure that group stage matches of Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting don’t clash. Their matches, the semi-finals and the final will be telecast live. Wednesday onwards, all matches will start at 3 pm.

In the revised schedule, Wednesday’s Churchill Brothers-Mohammedan Sporting match has been shifted from the Barasat Stadium to the Mohun Bagan ground. Bagan will play their opener at home against George Telegraph on Friday, instead of Thursday. Lajong FC and Churchill will clash at Barasat.

Pune FC will play their final group league match against AS Douanes on Saturday at the Bagan ground. On the same day, EB will play Chirag United SC.
