MTN deal status
Johannesburg, Aug. 27: South Africa’s telecom firm MTN today said no decision had been taken on the proposed transaction with India’s Bharti Airtel. The company said, “The rationale for the transaction is compelling and includes diversification and synergistic benefits as well as addressing the objective of becoming one of the pre-eminent emerging market telecom firm”.
Home buyers
Mumbai, Aug. 27: The RBI has made it mandatory for builders borrowing from banks to disclose loan details to the home buyers. The banks have to include the disclosure clause in their loan agreement. A builder will have to publish loan details in newspaper advertisements and mention that it has a no-objection certificate from mortgagee banks for property sale.
Pharma relief
New Delhi, Aug. 27: The government will provide credit subsidy worth Rs 400 crore to small scale pharma units to meet quality standards. The benefit will be provided in terms of the credit-linked Capital Subsidy Scheme to over 3,000 SSI units across the country.
