Language skills

The British Council and Sahitya Akademi will hold a literary translation skill training workshop in Calcutta on September 6 and 7, and in Delhi on September 11 and 12 for aspiring translators below 35 years of age. The training will be led by Amanda Hopkinson, director, British Centre for Literary Translation, University of East Anglia, the UK, and Pratik Kanjilal of The Little Magazine. NEW DELHI
Mock CAT

Education service provider Career Launcher will conduct a mock CAT test series in major cities across India, between July 25 and August 2. The test is open even to those who aren’t students of Career Launcher.

Students can choose time slots (7am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm and 7pm) according to their convenience and take the test at computer labs in designated test centres.

Logistic support

The Institute of Logistics and Aviation Management (ILAM), New Delhi, is set to offer bachelors of business administration (BBA) and masters of business administration (MBA) programmes in logistics and supply chain management and aviation management. The domestic logistics industry, which is estimated to generate business worth $125 billion in the next two years, would need over 4 lakh professionals in the senior management category in the next four to five years. Sectors that would require manpower in logistics are FMCG, retail, pharma, aviation, IT / ITES and others.
