Pistol

Guwahati, July 21: A handmade pistol was recovered by GRP personnel from the lavatory in a coach of Delhi-bound Brahmaputra Mail during a routine check at Guwahati railway station this morning.

However, nobody has been arrested in this connection so far.

Sit-in

Imphal: Meira paibis of Yaiskul in Imphal West on Tuesday staged a sit-in against a grenade attack on the residence of a retired SSB official, L. Madhumangol, by unknown persons here on Monday.

Complain

Dhubri: The district units of the AGP and the BJP on Tuesday complained to Dhubri deputy commissioner Jatindra Lahakar about gross anomalies in the electoral list of Dhubri civic body. They alleged that the names of several hundred voters have been found deleted while voters of gaon panchayats have been included in the electoral roll of the civic body.

State fish

Kohima: The Nagaland government has adopted chocolate mahseer as its state fish on Tuesday. This was stated in the annual report of the state fisheries department.
