Agartala, July 4: Nearly a fortnight before the panchayat polls, the CPM today called a 12-hour bandh in Kalyanpur in West Tripura after Congress workers allegedly severed the head of its cadre Budhuram Gour, 51, at Dwarikapur last night. Police arrested Amrit Lal Gour, 44, in this connection.

The police today rescued Subhash Tripura, 35, a Congress candidate in Satchand panchayat in South Tripura who was allegedly kidnapped by CPM workers on Thursday.
