“I felt that people who travel to Raichak have a super day but somehow after 7pm the level of activity sinks. Footloose is born to fill that gap. We had concentrated on daytime activities but this one is for the night birds. Sure, there are some people who sleep early and wake up early on a Raichak holiday but this is for those who want to rock the night,” smiled Harsh Neotia, moments after formally inaugurating Footloose, a sports bar that sprawls across 4,500 square feet.

Apart from being an after-hours hotspot to Ffort Raichak or Ganga Kutir guests, Footloose will offer something to all sorts of players. Table tennis, pool, video games and board games galore will keep the crowd entertained and energised from noon to midnight, though children will not be allowed in post 9pm.

Harsh is also hopeful about the number of city guests it will draw on some nights. He says: “People in Calcutta are not accustomed to drive long after partying late but I expect considerable city footfall on New Year’s Eve and other special nights.”

and more...

Indulge in some me-time at Anaya spa. Anything from an Indian body scrub to a smooth Swedish massage.

Test your archery skills or sweat it out in the gym.

Check into Ganga Kutir for a night so you can experience the “infinity pool” or browse through the library.

Choose a film from the DVD collection to watch at Odeon, the 100-seater theatre.

Take the Pari cruise, the vessel newly acquired by Ambuja Realty. Watch the sun set over the river or strike the Titanic pose just like son and mom Adit and Jaya Seal Ghosh !

“The best way to describe the interiors of Footloose is retro meets neo-classic,” says Vivek Rathore who has designed the chill-out zone. The dance floor, DJ console and bar are housed on the ground level. A semi-spiral staircase twinkling with mirror mosaic takes you upstairs to another lounge and the game areas. Black and white makes the colour code because “we preferred to keep it neutral and didn’t want to fix any impression”. The mood lighting is also “character-enhancing”

Harsh turned DJ and “tried his luck at the console for the first time”. He placed his headphones and got the party started with Let’s Get This Party Started! He took the dance floor with wife Madhu and some friends soon after
