Imphal, June 26: Tiny Tots Unique School bagged the under-12 girls’ title of the Imphal East Grassroots School Football League played at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium here today.
Three other titles (of the under-11 girls’, under-11 and under-12 boys’ categories) were also decided later in the day.
In the under-12 girls’ final, Tiny Tots Unique School, Deulahland, thrashed National Children School, Khongman by 3-0 goals.
Goalless in the first half, the Tiny Tots girls attacked with gusto after the break and S. Revia Devi netted the first goal in the 22nd minute of the second half. The National Children team, in a bid to equalise the score, went for an all-out attack, leaving huge gaps in their defence, which their opponents capitulated on. Th. Merina Devi of Tiny Tots sent in the second goal for her team seven minutes later. The third goal for tiny tots came as a bonus when Okram Bidyalaxmi Devi conceded a same side a minute later.
In under-11 boys’ final, Blooming Flower English School handed Keibi High School a 3-2 goal defeat to claim the title. In the under-12 boys’ final, Blooming Flower got the better of Tiny Tots Unique School by 3-1 goals.
Keibi High School had a 4-0 goal victory against Yourbung High School in the final of the under-11 girls’ match today.
Inter-school cricket
Don Bosco High School defeated Brighter Academy by 30 runs in the MCA Inter-School Cricket Tournament played at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex here today.
