olympic trip

Run, Jeff, run

Jeffrey Lawal Balogun,a British national, never thought running after a bus would fetch him a chance to run in the Olympics. Twenty-three-year old Jeffrey is well on his way to making it to his country’s 2012 Olympic team as a sprinter after a coach from a local track and field club spotted him. It happened one day four years ago when Jeffrey, late for college, was running after bus no. 28 in Bromley, Kent, UK. The coach put him in contact with Clarence Callender, one of Britain’s leading sprinting coaches. After training under Callender, Jeffrey is now ranked sixth in the country in the 60-metre distance and has strong chances of competing at the 2012 Olympics games. Jeffrey told the Daily Mirror that he never knew chasing a bus, which he eventually missed, would get him this far. And now that he’s come a long way, he wants to win.
