Flying high

Now here’s a double whammy. Emirates Airlines has announced its companion offer for Business and First Class. So if you are flying Emirates from Calcutta to any destination on the airlines’ network, you will get a 50 per cent discount on the airfare in the same class for your companion. The offer is valid on all seven weekly flights operated from Calcutta and is valid for booking and travel till August 15, 2009. But there are some pre-requisites here. For one, the companion must depart and arrive with the traveller. Also, you can stay overseas for a maximum of one month. However, the icing on the cake is the special add-on for the Skywards (Emirates’ frequent flier programme) member. If you are a member, you get to earn additional miles to popular destinations (the places for which there are most bookings for holidays etc) like New York, London, France, Zurich, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston and Johannesburg. For details on the offer, and for booking, write to ekholsindia@emirates.com, or you could give them a call at 40099555.

Holiday hotspot

Cezanne Khan,
Actor

Maldives and Bangkok are the two places I love going back to over and over again to spend my holidays. I have been to Bangkok quite a few times. I really enjoy my shopping expeditions there. Though truth be told, for me, Bangkok is much more than just a great place for shopping. I love everything about this lively capital city of Thailand. On the other hand, it’s not the city lights but the scope for adventure sports that draws me to the Maldives. It has some of the most breathtakingly beautiful islands in the world. If you are an adventure sports enthusiast, there are loads to keep you busy there. I am particularly fond of snorkelling and deep sea diving, two best things to do while in the Maldives!
