Drowned in Digha
A 47-year-old man drowned while bathing in the sea in Digha on Thursday morning. Sujit Sadhukhan, a resident of Kalupara Lane in Dhakuria, had gone to the seaside with his wife, relatives and friends on Wednesday. Police said the body was recovered in the afternoon after a search. Sadhukhan was a private transport operator.
Jet fares
Jet Airways has introduced special fares for “Premiere” passengers flying to London from Calcutta and other cities between May 29 and September 30. Fliers who book their tickets between May 29 and June 1 may avail themselves of a special return fare of Rs 60,000 to London, via Mumbai. Fliers who are unable to complete their travel bookings within the specified period can avail of a special return fare of Rs 89,000 to London, via Mumbai.
Special train
The weekly Sealdah-Jaipur summer special train will run twice a week from June. The train will leave Sealdah on June 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24 and 29 and July 1. The special train will have one AC 2-tier, two AC 3-tier, eight sleeper class, four general second class and two sleeper class-cum-luggage coaches.
