5 feared drowned

Dhubri, May 27: Five persons who were crossing the Gangadhar river in Dhubri are feared drowned as gushing waters from Bhutan flooded vast areas of the district today.

Two dead

Tinsukia: Suresh Sahani and his wife Malati died when their motorcycle collided with an army truck at Chandmari on Wednesday.

IEDs found

Kokrajhar: The army recovered three IEDs from the residence of Jogesh Hembrum of Boudiaguri under Gossaigaon police station in Kokrajhar.

Dhubri: Badruddin Ajmal has submitted his resignation to the Speaker of the Assam Assembly following his win in the Lok Sabha polls.

Dacoits held

Dhubri: Howly police under Barpeta district arrested seven dacoits from Joytinagar near Simlaguri on Tuesday night.

Flooded

Kokrajhar: Release of water from Kurichu dam in Bhutan resulted in flash floods in parts of Baksa and Barpeta on Tuesday.
