Corus mill hope

London, May 26: Marcegaglia — the leader of the consortium which terminated a 10-year purchase agreement with Corus — has agreed to meet the Anglo-Dutch steel maker, a BBC report said. The cancellation of the contract may force Corus to mothball Teesside steel mill at Redcar and risk 3,000 jobs. “Antonio Marcegaglia had agreed to meet with Corus (officials) in the UK but relations remained difficult,” BBC quoted Vera Baird, who is the Redcar member of Parliament, as saying.

Budget date

New Delhi, May 26: The budget for 2009-10 that will spell out policies and priorities of the new government will be presented in the first week of July, finance minister Pranab Mukherjee said.
