Infosys deaths

Bangalore, May 21 (PTI): Five Infosys employees were killed and eight injured on Thursday when their bus overturned near Karnataka’s Belgaum district.

The accident took place when the driver lost control while negotiating a sharp curve. The dead, all aged between 23 and 25 years, were returning to Pune after completing their training with the software major.

Monsoon

Pune (PTI): The Indian meteorological department has said conditions are favourable for the advent of the south-west monsoon over Kerala during the next two to three days. The monsoon might also advance to some parts of south and central Bay of Bengal during the same period, the department said.

Rafale back

New Delhi (PTI): The Centre has decided to allow French company Rafale to bid for the IAF’s $10-billion contract for 126 medium multirole combat aircraft. The Centre had earlier barred the fighter aircraft major from bidding after it was found lacking in certain technical requirements of the IAF.

CBSE results

New Delhi (PTI): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will announce Class XII results on Friday. The results will be available on www.results.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in and www.cbse.nic.in. The board has already announced results for Ajmer, Panchkula and Chennai regions.

Somnath ill

New Delhi (PTI): Somnath Chatterjee was on Thursday admitted to hospital following a chest congestion. The condition of the former Lok Sabha Speaker was said to be stable. Doctors have advised the 81-year-old complete bed rest for a few days.

BDR help

New Delhi: Bangladesh has “informally” approached Delhi to help restructure the mutiny-marred BDR. The restructuring may come up during a likely visit by top Indian officers to Dhaka in July, sources said. In the focus are the mechanisms that India has in place to prevent a mutiny.
